Chaco Bear Property

Overview

The Chaco Bear property is located in the Omineca Mining Division, 150 km north of Smithers, B.C. Access is primarily by helicopter from Smithers or via logging roads to the eastern side of Bear Lake

The property is underlain by Hazelton Group volcanic rocks consisting of purple to green tuffs and agglomerates with epidote alteration. Mineralization occurs in quartz veins containing specular hematite and chalcopyrite cutting through the volcanic package

Prospecting and sampling programs have yielded exceptional values, with select samples returning up to 10,530 g/t silver with 39% copper and gold values up to 25.5 g/t. Chip sampling across a fractured andesite yielded 90 g/t silver and 5.23% copper over one meter

Historical Exploration
Imperial Metals conducted limited drilling on the northwest shear zone in the 1990s, with all five holes encountering mineralization. Initial exploration work identified both narrow high-grade veins and broader mineralized zones.

The extensive soil anomaly and numerous vein systems remain largely untested, offering multiple exploration targets.

Exploring the Chaco Bear Terrain

chaco_map_layout

Exploration Targets

  • Northwest-striking shear zone with a 300–400-meter strike length
  • A 1500 x 600-meter copper, zinc, and gold soil anomaly covering the valley floor
  • Multiple mineralized quartz vein systems across the property
Current Exploration Focus
expert-icon1
Epithermal Exploration

There are at least four defined epithermal exploration targets associated with the extensive center, which may represent subsurface equivalents to the precious-metals-rich, world-class Eskay Creek Deposit

expert-icon2
epithermal to mesothermal

There are at least three defined epithermal to mesothermal exploration targets in intrusive centers. All targets have the potential to host world-class precious metals deposits

expert-icon3
deeper drilling

Following extensive geochemical and geophysical work on three of the defined epithermal targets, the next step is deeper drilling, focusing on:

Area 1 – Gold Epithermal Zone
Area 2 – Porphyry Copper Target
Area 3 – Mineralized Maar-Volcano
